Hello Dear Friends!

It's been some time since we wrote to you ... because we've been so busy adding new clients to our list and taking care of their needs. To mention a few examples:

  • Celebrations. We assisted families making Bar- and Bat-Mitzvah celebrations for their children. (This morning, as I write this column, there is a Bar Mitzvah taking place at the Kotel, replete with musicians, video, and still photography . Generous donors like you made it happen and also took care of the boy's Tefillin!)

    ree
  • Therapy. We've helped several individuals in need of psychological assistance to receive counseling and therapy that promotes their self confidence and ability to cope with the stressful events in their lives.

  • Financial assistance. Many individuals we assist cannot afford to pay their rent or their share of medicines received from Kuppat Cholim or even to put bread on the table on Shabbat! According to the case, Yesh Ezra steps in to relieve the burden.

Welcome to our new Social Worker!

  • Taking our mission to the next level. After a long search - and with the generous assistance of an anonymous donor - we have hired a part-time social worker as a consultant to Yesh Ezra. This position takes our dedicated mission to a totally new stage whereby we can make appropriate interventions and referrals knowing that we are putting our clients back with confidence on the path of self-sustenance and security.

  • Rosh Hashanah is coming. We continuously acknowledge that it is your dedicated support that enables us to work day in and day out to assist our forty clients (we doubled the number in the last year!). As Rosh Hashanah draws near, we call upon you to put Yesh Ezra on your charity list. The recent events in the country have created challenges both for our cause and, of course, for our clients ever fearful of not coping. Thank you so much!

With best wishes and Besurot Tovot,

Menachem Persoff, Director, Yesh Ezra.
